Neon Light Effect by artist Stacey Perry

I'm about to show you the easiest face painting effect to achieve. This neon light effect takes only three easy steps to create. You can use it to highlight the face, use words or shapes, etc... For this tutorial, I will use a neon heart balloon to demonstrate the technique.

Here's what you'll need:

  1.  Global Face Paint - Standard White
  2. Ben Nye Fuchsia Dry Powder Rouge
  3. Majestic Round Brush #3
  4. Ben Nye Fine Detail Tapered Point Brush

Here's how to apply:

Load your #3 round brush with Global white and paint your heart balloon shape.

Load your Tapered brush with Fuchsia Ben Nye powder and apply all over the heart. Be sure to let the powder extend past the white outline to give a glow effect.

Finally, reload your #3 round brush with Global white and paint directly over your original white outline.

This effect works with just about any color, but works best with brighter colors such as pink, lime green, turquoise etc... This effect also makes a great skull design. Give it a try!

I would really enjoy seeing your neon designs so please share them with us on Facebook and Instagram.

Until next time,
