Hey Everyone! Have you ever wondered how many different kinds of fake blood there is? Well in this blog I will show you several types of fake blood and their consistency! The ones that dry matte and the ones that stay glossy.
I took several types of fake blood products that we sell and applied swatches of them on my arm. I learned a lot testing them out! I have been putting the wrong blood on my sfx all along!
I hope this will narrow down your search for your favorite blood!
Products used:
Mehron Squirt Blood Bright Arterial and Dark Venous
Consistency like fresh blood, dries completely
Graftobian Blood Paste
Very thick, does not drip, stays wet
Mehron Stage Blood
Thicker than squirt blood, very smooth to apply, less runny but will drip
Mehron Coagulated Blood Gel
Also very thick and smooth, also dark, like clotted blood
Ben Nye Thick Blood
Jam-like consistency, forms chunks, stays sticky
Tinsley Transfers Blood FX
Lipgloss-like applicator, thick enough not to be runny, stays sticky
Mehron Splatter Blood
Comes in a spray bottle great for applying to costuming or around violent-looking wounds
Graftobian Magic Blood Powder
Goes on hard to see, activates with water
These and more available in our Blood FX section!
