Today I would like to show you how to do a cracked porcelain doll make-up, which is extremely popular around the Halloween season.
I started by sponging the base with white Diamond FX, which I then went over with white and grey powders from Elisa Griffith Colour Me Pro Palette. I do this as it helps to give a more even base.
Next I sponged black Diamond FX around the eye sockets and also on the head and chest where the holes will be.
I used my Lowell Cornell Gold Grip Round #3 and a Liner Brush to paint the cracks around the eyes, on the forehead, around the mouth and on the chest area.
I then painted the lips in a cupid bow style, using Cameleon Red Berry. The shade appears slightly lighter because I painted over the white base so that I could change the shape of the lips.
I then softened the crack lines using the Elisa Griffith Black Powder. I also used that for shadows underneath, to make the cracks appear more realistic. For highlights, I used White Diamond FX with my Liner Brush and blended them in.
I hope this has helped to inspire you with your own art. I would love to see your creations!
My name is Caroline Healy I set up Carolines facepainting in Essex, UK around three years ago, and since then it has gone from strength to strength! My favourite make-up styles is gory, so I was really excited to be asked to do some blogs for HalloweenMake-up.com.
