Geisha Halloween Makeup Video Tutorial

The geisha or “geiko” are traditional female Japanese entertainers who thrived during feudal Japan providing musical, dance and game entertainment during social gatherings.

Supplies:  We recommend Graftobian ProPaint for this design.

Get all these face paints in one kit. Choose from Graftobian Makeup Kit or Diamond FX Makeup Kit.


Tips: Always start with a clean face. Make sure that all paints, tools and the work area are all clean. Prepare everything you need before you start.

Let’s paint! 

Step 1Create a base. Cover the whole face with a mixture of White Swan and Pearl Frost using a sponge.

Step 2. Paint pink on the eye and nose area. Paint the sides of the nose and eyelids with Shocking Pink loaded on a 1/2 inch filbert brush.

Step 3. Blend the pink. Blend the pink with a sponge.

Step 4. Paint Sakura flowers. Using Tickled Pink and a #6 round brush, paint Sakura flowers underneath the eyes and on the forehead.

Step 5. Blend the pinks. Blend the pinks on the white base using the same brush loaded with Shocking Pink.

Step 6. Create an eyeliner. Paint an eyeliner on the corner of the eyes and along the lower eyelid using a #6 round brush and White Swan.

Step 7.  Paint eyebrows. Using Fuzzy Bear Brown and a #6 round brush, paint the eyebrows.

Step 8. Paint Sakura branches. Draw Sakura branches and an eyeliner using Raven Black and a #2 round brush.

Step 9. Blend the black eyeliner. Blend the black eyeliner to the base with a 1/2 inch filbert brush loaded with some Shocking Pink. .

Step 10. Add some blush. Add some blush on the cheeks with Rosy Cheeks blush from Graftobian Blush Palette. Use a blush brush.

Step 11. Outline the white base. Give the face’s white an outline by painting Fuzzy Bear Brown around the white paint. Use a #6 round brush.

Step 12. Paint the lips. Using Imperial Red and a #6 round brush, paint the lips.

Step 13Glitter the design. Roll some glitter on the design using the back of any brush.
