Half Skull Makeup
Posted by Stacey Perry on
It’s time for more Halloween Fun! Half skulls are a nice change from your traditional full face. This design works great with both men and women. For this particular half skull, I added a little something extra using some 3d Gel to give it a melting effect. Let’s get started!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Global Face Paint – White
- Mehron Black Paradise
- Wolfe Black
- Mehron Fleshtone 3D Gel
- Always Wicked Sponges
- Mehron Mark Reid Signature Round Brush #4
- Aqualon Filbert Brush #8
The Application:
Begin by loading your Always Wicked Sponge with Global White and sponge in the bottom portion of the face.
Load your #4 Round Brush with Paradise Black and begin outlining the jaw area and the top section of the white as shown. Load your #4 with Wolfe Black and paint in your skull nose.
Using a dry brush technique, begin adding the shadowing to the design. (wet your brush, then dry it off before adding the paint. You will not need to add water to the paint for this technique)
Load your #4 Round Brush with Wolfe Black and begin painting in the teeth,
Continue adding shadowing to the mouth area using the same dry brush effect as before.
Heat up your 3D Gel as per package instructions and using the back of your paintbrush, dip it into the 3D gel and place drips starting at the top of the design.
Throw on a wig if you have one to complete the design and you’re all done. Quick and easy design and fun to do!

Until next time,
