We all know how popular the IT remake has been this year. Creating this look with face paint and makeup has been blowing up throughout the MUA community and will surely be a popular costume choice this Halloween. So instead of doing the same old versions of Pennywise, let's do a Pennywise skull face paint!
Here's what you are going to need:
- Mehron Special Effects Bald Cap
- Mehron Liquid Latex
- Mehron White Paradise Face Paint
- Mehron Storm Cloud Grey
- Mehron Black Paradise Face Paint
- Mehron Red Paradise Face Paint
- Cameleon Kabuki Blending Brush
- Aqualon Filbert Brush #8
- Ben Nye Wide Angle Brushe AB-8
- Mehron Mark Reid Signature Round Brush #4
- Red wig
White Hand Towel (optional)
Here's how to apply:
If you have chosen to use the optional hand towel, you'll want to fold it, place on the head and then apply the bald cap. This will give the added height needed for Pennywise but it is optional.
When Applying the bald cap, you will only need to smooth the front of the cap since the sides and back will be covered with a wig.
Using latex or pros-aide on a q-tip, lighting apply to the forehead and bald cap. Let dry.
Load your kabuki brush with Paradise White and using a circular motion, apply to the face and head. You can avoid the eyes since you will be using black to make the eye cavity.
Load your Filbert brush with Paradise Grey and begin painting the shadows of the skull as shown.
Then, load your filbert brush with Paradise Black and begin painting the outline of the skull.
Continue until you have filled in the eyes, nose, head and the outside of the skull. Next, load your #4 round brush with black and paint the teeth. The top teeth should start on the bottom lip.
This next step is all about shading. You'll use your angle brush and alternate with grey and black to create shading to the entire skull.
Once you achieve the amount of shading you want, load your filbert brush with Paradise White and add white highlights. Then, load your #4 round brush with Paradise Black and thinly add details to the entire skull. Teeth, eyes, chin forehead etc... Continue by adding cracks on the top of the forehead.
Finally, load your #4 round brush with Paradise Red and paint the classic red lines that start on the sides of the mouth and extend to the top of the forehead. Then paint around the black nose cavity and add red to the teeth as shown.
Add your crazy red wig and you are all done. This look is sure to have you standing out from the crowd of IT clowns this Halloween.
Until next time… Live, Love, Paint.
