A Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite themes to paint. Luckily, I'm not alone, so I have chosen this cute Jack Skellington Inspired mask to share with all of you for this week's blog.

Here's what you'll need to create this look:

  1. Global Face Paint - Standard White
  2. Cameleon Metallic Face Paint - Purple
  3. Global New York Fun Stroke Split Cake
  4. Wolfe Black Face Paint
  5. Mehron Brilliant Silver
  6. Bad Ass Mini Stencils - BAM1029 - Gator
  7. Always Wicked Art Butterfly Makeup Sponges
  8. Mehron Mark Reid Signature Round Brush #2
  9. Graftobian Angle Brush

Here's how to apply:

Begin by loading your Always Wicked Sponge with Global White and sponge in a circle shape on the forehead as shown. This will be Jack's head.

Load your Sponge with Cameleon Purple and stipple on the mask shape. Load the other side of your sponge with Paradise Silver and sponge the gator pattern on both eyelids and bottom corner of the mask using your BAM mini stencil. (For best results, be sure your paint is a sticky consistency when using a stencil.)

Load your Angle brush with the purple and blue from your Arty Cake and paint three butterfly wing shapes on each side of Jack's face. continue the color down each side of the mask.

Load your #2 round brush with Paradise silver and paint your swirls as shown. This will give a finished edge to the side and bottom of the mask.

Continuing with your Paradise silver, add thorns to the silver swirls. Next, load your #2 round brush with Wolfe black and paint in crooked "S" shapes in each butterfly wing. Alternate between a regular S and a backward S. Each one will get a little smaller the closer it gets to Jack's head.

Continue with your "S" shapes until each wing is filled in. Next, outline your silver swirls and thorns.

Then, it's time to paint Jack's Face with Wolfe black and your #2 round brush. I always start from top to bottom.

Continue with your Wolfe black and outline each wing shape, then paint two "v" shapes under Jack's face.

Finally, you'll add spikes to the bottom of the mask. You can add glitter if you choose.
