The Jack O Lantern is synonymous with Halloween, a symbol of the holiday itself. We thought it appropriate to create a makeup in the guise of the Jack O lantern with a bit of a twist.
Get your model ready to go and hair pulled back from face.
Step 1. Wet the orange makeup cake and get plenty of makeup on your hydra sponge, cover entire face. We did partial coverage on the neck.
Step 2. Using your chisel brush cover eye socket, under eye and brow area with black.
Step 3. Continue with black streaks above and below eye.
Step 4. The lips are next, paint in black with the chisel brush and draw a line form either edge of mouth outward.
Step 5. Paint streaked lines above and below the mouth.
Step 6. With the flat brush and tan create the vertical lines of the face. Short horizontal strokes were used for this step.
Step 7. Paint in the nose tip black, streak the lines as we did the mouth and eyes.
Step 8. With the flat brush add some black horizontal lines that accent the tan.
Step 9. Use your powder bush and the powder black to contour the neck area. Continue to shading on collar bone and lightly on chest.
Step 10. Follow the jawline around with the powder black.
*The makeup is complete, secure any stray hair back from face and add costuming. We chose a black spider web shawl to compliment our creation.
