There is nothing like the image of a Jack O’ Lantern to indicate the Halloween season, this is the inspiration for our latest design. The Wicked Pumpkin face is not your friendly let’s go for a stroll in the autumn air; but the, “run for your life it’s coming for us”, Jack O’ Lantern. This is great face paint if you attend an event with black light or work a haunted attraction with black lighting.


Diamond neon orange

Black makeup pencil


3/8″  flat brush

1/4″ petal tip brush

Medium round brush

*Black light to check makeup.


Step 1. Using the flat brush spray the neon cake with water and work into a thick paste like consistency. This will give the best coverage for UV paint.

Step 2. Apply paint to face with flat brush leaving area of eye sockets clear as well as a small area of nose.

Step 3. Using black pencil, rough out the areas to be painted black, you may modify these when you fill them in.

Step 4. Following the paint wetting tip as in step 1 and apply black to eyes, nose and mouth with medium brush.

Step 5.

Step 5. Use black paint and round detail brush to accent nose, eyes and mouth. You will also add in vertical lines for the pumpkin look.


*Making the lines of the eyes and mouth uneven and a bit wild add to the sinister look of the pumpkin.

*Use the black light to check for even distribution of UV paint, touch up where needed.

Leave the black light on, turn out all other lights and get ready for the magic.
