A great way to create realistic wounds directly on your subject is to employ bone and scar wax in your design. The ability to form and blend the wax as well as color it easily with makeup is reason enough to try this style of wound makeup but the bonus is that you can use this on a subject that may have latex allergies. Lets take a look at some application ideas. We chose to do something with the hand and wrist to give an opportunity to use the bone wax in our design, there is just something about an exposed knuckle or wrist bone to set the mood.

Makeup:

*Graftobian molding wax Flesh and white pigmented.

*Ben Nye Bruise wheel

*Wolfe Skniz Palette for skin tone foundation.

To clean up simply peel away the wax wound, use the spirit gum remover to clean up spirit gum. If the wax wants to stick, scrub the area with the oil and wash with soap and water.

These same steps can be used to make scars and wounds on the face, so get busy and get ugly.
