My name is Kerissa Jones, I'm a military wife and a mom of 5. I've been a licensed cosmetologist for 6 years and a Pro Makeup Artist. I started to branch into Paints a little over a year ago when I was tired of using all my makeup to create SFX looks. Ha! Painting is extremely relaxing for me, I use it as "Me Time", but not only that  I love inspiring others through my work!

Try this pretty Gypsy fortune teller make-up for something different this Halloween!

Product list

Gypsy Makeup by Caroline Healy
I began by applying a matte mousse foundation to the face with a round sponge and then used a purple eyeshadow on the eyelids, highlighting the brow line with the metallic white powder.

Next I painted a white oval in the centre of the forehead using a number 5 brush and Diamond FX white.

Gypsy Makeup by Caroline Healy
Then using diamond FX black and a number 1 brush, I marked out the design around the 3rd eye.

Gypsy Makeup by Caroline Healy
I continued adding to the design using the same brush with the black paint and then used Diamond FX blue with a number 3 brush to paint inside the 3rd eye.

Gypsy Makeup by Caroline Healy
I shaded around the 3rd eye, using black powder. I then used the black powder under the lash line and around the eye socket. I used silver powder on the brow line to blend with the black powder. I used a black kohl pencil to darken the eyebrows and also on the eyelids.

For the white dots above the brows I used Diamond FX white again with the same round number 5 brush.

Gypsy Makeup by Caroline Healy
I mixed chunky gold and purple glitter with global body gel and then applied it around the eyes, using a spatula.

The lips were painted using diamond FX gold and then I added some chunky gold glitter in the centre. I  also added gems to the design .

I highlighted using diamond FX white and a number 5 brush.
Then added mascara and false lashes to complete the look.

1. Using a Makeup sponge and loading it with Gold face paint. Covering my eyelids and keeping to the center of my face and eyes. Drawing out the Mask. Optional make straight edges around mask with baby wipes.

2.  Going to set the paint with a golden shimmer eye shadow to give my mask more of a shine and sparkle. Taking a very small detailing brush and creating Swirls. One on my forehead and other on my cheek.

3.  The smallest detailing brush i have i went on and made swirls to give my mask a Lacey look. Drawing very thin lines to make a lace fabric illusion.

4. Continued with more fine lines and added more swirls. It's Chunky Glitter time yes! the best part. Placed glitter around my mask to give it more Sparkle.

5. Finally add some over exaggerated, bold eye lashes. Simply place eye adhesive to your false lash and place right above your eyelash line

I love painting lace and black is perfect for any party! This design will look good in any colour though.  Follow these steps and create your own sexy mask!

A good brush is essential and I love the consistency of Diamond FX, as it's almost chalky and flows beautifully.

Supplies used:

Diamond FX - Black
Global Colours - Deep Magenta
Eliza Griffith Powders in Black, White and Gold
Paint Pal Swirl Round Brush #1
Paradise Petal Tip Brush #818
TAG Round Brush #3 (for powders)
Bling by Acacia Tanner

I originally planned to use a liner brush for the fine details. But the Paint Pal Swirl # was amazing and I could have done it all with one brush!

Method

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
I began by placing some of Acacia Tanner's beautiful bling in the centre of my forehead. Using a body glue/pros aide. Let the glue get tacky before applying the bling.

I was wearing a light day make-up, so I already had some White powder on my eyelids and brow line. It's good to highlight those areas, especially when the eyelids are small like mine!

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
Next I painted 3 teardrops on either side of the bling and then marked out the eye area. For this I used a swirl number 1 and Diamond FX black facepaint.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
I then added swirls in the 3 points around the eyes.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
Teardrops and swirls are brilliant for masks. I connected the bottom swirls and it pulls the design together.

Continuing with the same brush and paint, I added more teardrops in the centre and swirls coming into the centre.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
I continued to add more teardrops on my forehead and around my eyes.

To fill the gaps under my eye area, I added more swirls, using the same brush.

I added some black lines on the brow line, as I wanted to slightly change it around my eyes.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
I then continued to add more teardrops, to add interest and fill any big spaces. I also added more details to the nose area.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
The next step surprised me. Usually I would use a liner brush. But the swirl number 1. Has a lovely fine point which worked just as well!

I joined up the teardrops in the same way as painting a spider web.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
I filled the area on the brow line with a swirl in the centre and continued adding more lace detail. When painting lace, all lines must be connected.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
Eliza Griffith black powder is my favourite for creating shadows. I also used it to shade the eye socket. I then covered the eyes in a gold powder also by Eliza Griffith.

Black Lace New Years Eve Mask Makeup by Caroline
Finally I choose deep magenta by global for the lips. I could of used red, but purple fits perfectly and it's a colour of royalty, so if your going glam you can't get a better colour!

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
I began by applying a base coat, using a Kabuki Brush by Mehron and Diamond FX Ogre.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
Next I used the Kabuki Brush again with Diamond FX Black, to shade my hairline, eyes and also down the middle of my neck. I continued to use the black paint, but with a Number 5 Round Brush to mark out where the muzzle area will be. I then painted the mouth , nose and the lines around my mouth and forehead.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
I then painted the gums with TAG Pink and a Round Number 5 Brush.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
Using Diamond FX Pus and the Number 5 Brush again, I painted the teeth, highlighted between the black wrinkles etc and also added some of this colour on the neck.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
Next I used a Number 1 Brush and Diamond FX Black to paint the fine fur-like lines around my eyes, wrinkles on my nose and some fine lines around my mouth.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy

I wanted the eyes to look more scary, so I painted some extra vein lines around my eyes.

As I wasn't happy with the thick black line below the muzzle area, I removed it using a wet wipe.

I then used a number 3 brush to paint inside the mouth and around the teeth. I like this brush for detail.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy
Next I used TAG Pink to repaint the gum area and lower jaw.

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy

Using Diamond FX White and Paintpal Teardrop Brush, l highlighted the teeth, gums and the black 'wrinkles'

Werewolf Makeup by Caroline Healy

I removed any excess paint on my eyelids with a wet wipe and then painted them with TAG Red and a Number 5 Round Brush.

After that I applied a layer of Red Powder over the paint.

A Number 0 Brush is perfect for creating fur! I used Diamond FX White for this, adding fur to my face and neck.

Finally I used my Paintpal Swirl Number 1 Brush with Diamond FX Black to outline the mouth and teeth, then I added more depth to the fur.

I had a lot of fun with this paint... I really didn't want to wash it off! I hope you enjoy re-creating this look as much as me!
